Indra West Sumbawa ocean hunter

Indra was born in Lombok –neighboring island of Bali. He has been freediving since 1997. He learned spear-fishing and freediving from his cousin in Lombok. He stopped spear-fishing from 1999 to 2000, when he took a job in the “Blue Coral Diving” company. He started spear-fishing again in 2001 until now.

In addition to spear-fishing, he loves hunting. He hunts wild boars and deer in the island of Sumbawa. But his passion is scuba diving in the ocean. He went through many amazing experiences in the ocean. He was pulled away by a current and had to swim for a long time until he reached the shore. When he could finally see land, his only option was to climb a cliff for safety. Although already exhausted, he decided to climb the cliff and then had to walk several miles to reach home.

Another amazing experience was when his boat sank! He was spear-fishing and surfing with his friends and few guests when their boat started sinking and they could do nothing about it. Since there was no way anybody could rescue them, they had to swim 3.2 km to reach the shore.

Indra is a real personage in Sumbawa. Everyone in the island knows him and appreciates his kindness and help. His favorite fish is the Spanish mackerel and his biggest catch was a giant trevally. He is the best resource person when it comes to reliable experience in Sumbawa. So when you visit Sumbawa and wish to do spear-fishing or need knowledge and relevant skills to visit this island, look for Indra, you will be in good hands!
