Good Day Spearfishing with Doosung Kim and his Girlfriend

It always a pleasure to host a spearo from our neighboring asian country. It was clear that day we want to hunt fish for sashimi. We start the day hunting pelagic fish. We manage to spot a Spanish mackerel but they weren't interested on our present in their feeding spot. after several attempt o the open water, we decide to hunt in the reef.

We went to our favorite spot to hunt Midnight snapper, Longnose emperor, green job fish and Maori seaperch. I was stalking midnight snapper until I manage to get them in shooting range . All the sudden 25-30 kg size dogtooth tuna swim to school of midnight snapper and spook them . After the doggy spook the snapper he ditch me and leave with nothing to shoot.

Then we try several attempt at the different reef and finally we shot Coronation trout and Redbass for lunch.

David Giger trip 2 day Trip North Bali

It was our first time to go this part of North Bali. We heard a lot of good story from the past on all the spot we are going to go. There is one spot famous for Marlin and Sailfish. Drop off for Dogtooth Tuna and ofcourse popular spot for the spanish Mackerel to stopby before their journey to the Indian Ocean.

First Day we started at the reef, the spot is famous for spanish mackerel and reef fish. But we didn't see a lot life and not a single of bait fish. We drift and follow the current until we reach a spot full of bait fish on the surface. my First shot was A nice size maori seaperch. Then David shot few nice groupers. Toward the end of the day 12 kg Spanish mackerel swim toward me and i got a good shot.

The next day we went to drop off spots. It is well known for the Dogtooth Tuna and lots of variety of Pelagic. My first shot was 5 kg Midnight Snapper. There was so many of them so i just waited for the biggest out of the group. Then saw a lot maori Seaperch and redbass but they were keeping their distance. Then we drift and i manage to shot 9 kg Dogtooth tuna.

Then we contiune a drift and we found a spot with big school of GT, Blue fin Trevally, Golden trevally and my favorite longnose emperor. I ignore the Trevally but it was my biggest mistake because the schol of longnose was way out of range. I did few more dive but the school went back to the drop off to deep blue sea.

Then we contiune our drift and it payoff shot a good size Bigeye Seabream. Overall it was an epic 2 day adventure to new spot. Got a good bag of fish to bring home enough supply for a week of fine dining.

Its always a nice suprise and previlges to be able to hunt together with Spearo from different part of the world. We are able to share experiences, tips and helpful advice that can save each other life. Today trip we are diving with Ryota and Yasuharu from Japan. The day was clear, no wind and the best condition what bali can offer beautiful sunny clear day.

We start the day to hunt Pelagic, we saw few but didn't get a good range. But the patience payoff 24 kg Spanish went to check out made and and made got a kill shot.

After hunting pelagic we went to hunt at the reef. We manage to get Redbass, Coronotion trout and Maori seaperch. We finish the trip by going to our favorite japanesse restaurant in Sanur. The restaurant prepare is few sushi and sashimi. The best sashimi is the coronation trout or any trout. We had our stomache filll and call it a day.

2 day Spearfishing Trip With Tom Nixon

Despite The raining season, we manage to get 2 good days, avoiding the rain and bad weather. We started the trip in North Bali, the plan was to go to the FAD but the thick cloud in North Was not a good sign. We went straight to the reef and hunt in our favorite spots. There was mild current which give us a little trouble going to the outer reef that stick on from the Bay. We manage to to shoot some fish for Dinner , Tom Bent his Shaft and lost 25 Kg Giant Trevally. The GT was stuck in reef with ripping currents. Tom Tried so hard to secure his fish but the Current was to strong.

The next day we went to East Bali to hunt for wahoo and Spanish Mackerel. We spotted few Spanish and wahoo but they were to shy. Kept their distance. We saw lots of Big Milkfish, school of Bigeye Trevally and GT. Tom shot Green Jobfish and lost the fighting battle pulling the fish up to the surface.

4 Day trip West Sumbawa Ahmed, Osama and Mohhamed

Traveling To Sumbawa is always fun because you encounter many surprise in Airport, fast boat or Ferry. You get a little preview of Lombok and Sumbawa from Land and Sea. Ahmed, Muhammad, and Osama was good group to Host. We share a lot of laughter, they are willing to try and go through adventure into Style. Back Home they are sitting at a office with a suit, in Sumbawa they are sitting behind a pick up traveling to the spot for spearfishing. They all thought me many thing about their culture and there experience spearfishing and free diving. Hopefully one day I will have the chance to visit them in Kuwait and dive again together.

2 Day Trip Matthew Philbin and Sandy

Matthew and Sandy decide to learn Spearfishing on their trip To Bali Indonesia. During the 2 day trip Matthew and Sandy learn some basic duck dive, saftey, and basic spearfishing technique.

First Day we dive at reef and did some basic training and toward the afternoon we start Spearfishing. We manage to get some Dinner and headed back to the Hotel. We went To the Restaurant and the chef prepare us a nice dinner with the fresh catch

The next Day we went to the FAD to hunt for Mahi mahi and Wahoo. We manage to spot a few but the ocean condition change very fast and made it very hard to Hunt. Sandy manage to get really close to Mahi Mahi but miss the shot. Better luck next time. We headed back to reef and hunt for more  reef fish.

Spearfishing South Bali is one of the best place to hunt at shallow reef for good eating reef fish. We started the day with some basic knowledge about how to hunt around the southern reef. Not long after that John start collecting some nice fish for dinner.

The day result few Maori Seaperch, Rabbitfish and Unicorn fish for 3 beer..
